I was born and raised in Rocky Mount, NC and graduated from North Carolina A&T State University (Aggie Pride) with a degree in Business Education, and later earned a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with emphasis on Adult Education and a Certification in Administration and Supervision from George Mason University.
After working at a private college in Charlotte, NC for several years, I moved to this area and worked for Fairfax County Government for nine years. This is my twenty-third year as an educator in Fairfax County School Public Schools. My career began at West Potomac High School and for the past nine years, I have been an Assistant Principal at Bryant High School.
I love working at Bryant because of its diversity and the promising future it affords students who may not otherwise have obtained a high school diploma. Serving at Bryant has allowed my career and ministry to co-exist and share learning and life experiences with staff and students. I wholly concur with Aristotle who said, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” The two are inseparable.
