Ms. Hamilton and Ms. Rudder Recognized as FCPS CARES of the Month Recipients!
Congratulations to our Ms. Tracy Hamilton, Ms. Alaise Rudder, and Ms. Iris Stubblefield (Mount Vernon HS) on being recognized as the October 2021 FCPS CARES of the Month recipients by the Department of Human Resources!
Below is the write up submitted by Assistant Principal Karen Hertel.
Iris, Tracy and Alaise were teaching the summer credit recovery program when they noticed a student was not feeling well. He is not a native English speaker and did not know how to access help for a dental problem. These teachers did an extensive amount of leg work including arranging low cost appointments and arranging for transportation for the student to take care of a dental issue that was so significant the doctor said it could have been life threatening.
We are so grateful for our unsung heroes.
