Hello, 

I am Ms. Hamilton. I teach English Language Development 11 and Literacy Essentials. I look forward to getting to know you this year.

In class, students continue to develop English language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. We focus our language development on the Virginia standards of learning and objectives.

• Listening: We will develop our listening skills by listening to presentations and lessons from the teacher, other students, as well as online videa.
• Speaking: We will develop speaking skills in English through a variety of presentations, group projects, and online programs such as Duolingo.
• Reading: We will develop reading skills by analyzing fiction & nonfiction texts.
• Writing: We will develop our writing skills (grammar, organization, research, spelling, & vocabulary) through paragraph and essay writing.
